Twitter users celebrate Trump’s birthday by making #JohnMcCainDay trend

It’s Donald Trump’s birthday, and by the looks of the trending hashtags, Twitter users are torn.

To troll the president on his big day thousands of people are tweeting #JohnMcCainDay, because, as everyone probably know, Trump was not a fan of the late Arizona senator. With this in mind, Andy Lassner, the executive producer of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, kicked off the hashtag.

Lassner suggested that his followers join him in honoring an “American hero,” explaining, “I’m sure this would mean a lot to a patriot like Donald Trump.”
